Who I Am
Prisca Braga
Hi, I'm Prisca. My name literally means "ancient" in Latin (hence the name of my businness). I have always had a fascination with everything "old", and astrology is one of the most amazing systems which bridge ancient knowledge with modern innovation within the self-knowledge and spiritual and self-devolpment arenas.
My journey with the stars started at home. I grew up listening to my mother talk about astrology, as it was a fascination of hers that eventually became my path. I started studying seriously at 16, and by 20, I was fully submerged in the craft.
My path began like many in the West, with Tropical astrology, but my time in India in 2016 changed everything. It opened the door to the Vedic world, and today, my practice lives in the bridge between the two. I don't believe you have to choose one over the other; I often combine both in a single reading because it adds a depth that one system alone simply can’t reach.
To me, astrology is not a crystal ball. I don't do predictive work because I believe in the power of human choice.
Instead, I see the chart as a map of your soul’s journey, or a blueprint of the patterns you chose to encounter, the wounds you are here to heal, and the unique gifts you have to offer the world. Think of it as a language that translates the subconscious and the archetypal into something practical. We aren't just looking at planets; we are looking at your internal ecosystem and how to navigate it with clarity.
I am a student of many systems. In my Tropical work, I find Placidus provides the most clarity, but I’m trained to move between Equal, Whole Sign, and Porphyry depending on the focus of our session. In my Vedic practice, I work exclusively with Whole Signs and Lahiri. I also have a deep fascination with the dynamics of connection, using Synastry and Composite charts to help people understand the energetic threads between them. When it comes to astrological schools of thought, I mainly resonate with Psychological (Jungian) and Evolutionary for Western Tropical astrology, and with Parashari and Jaimini for Vedic astrology. In my readings, I either adapt to my clients' choice, or intuitively use one or a mix of those different lenses.
I always repeat that no one is bound by a fixed destiny, and your chart isn't a set of rules; it’s an invitation to remember what your life can become given a set of both challenges and strenghts you come with. Whether you're navigating a moment of transition, untangling a relationship, or simply seeking a deeper connection to your own path, the stars offer a language for what you're already feeling inside.
